Fun Field Trips
For children age 3 and up, we typically will take three fun and educational field trips per school year.
- Pumpkin Patch 🎃 – Visiting Hill Ridge Farm in Youngsville, North Carolina has a lot of fun and educational value for our children. It includes the pumpkin patch, train ride, hay, ride plants, animals, fresh vegetables and vehicles.
- Museum of Life and Science 🌎 – A day of exploring 84 acres of science and nature experiences to spark imagination, creativity, and learning about our amazing world.
- Rollerskating or Bowling 🎳🛼– Depending on the age group, we take children under 3 bowling as they use lane assistance to set strike streak records or children over 3 go rollerskating to practice their body coordination skills in a day of fun.
- Community Day 🎶🎄- Every December our childcare community and the elderly community come together for a fun filled day of singing silly songs, sharing gifts and making happy memories.

Teaching Skills That Build Character
At A Mother’s Touch, children are encouraged to develop the skills of observation, inquiry, concentration, problem-solving and self-reliance through concepts such as learning shapes, colors, numbers, alphabet, phonics, basic sign language, the solar system, social studies, basic math, writing, counting money, telling time, learning about historical figures and events and weekly spelling tests. We also place lessons of character as priority as a Christian based pre-school.
Empathy and Compassion: Children learn to understand and care for others’ feelings, fostering a sense of kindness.
Social Skills: Interacting with different generations helps develop communication skills and encourages respect for others.
Community Involvement: Engaging with the elderly teaches children the importance of community and contributing to it.
Gratitude: They learn to appreciate what they have by giving to others, reinforcing the value of generosity.
Cultural Awareness: Exposure to different life experiences broadens their understanding of diverse lifestyles and backgrounds.
Joy of Giving: They experience the joy that comes from making others happy, which can be fulfilling and rewarding.
