Here at A Mother’s Touch Child Development Center, our curriculum is categorized and themed based for all age groups. We are currently using the Mother Goose curriculum, which is an approved curriculum in the state of NC. Mother Goose is a seasonal and Christian based curriculum. We use the NC Foundations of Early Learning and Development to enhance and promote literacy, readiness, and problem-solving skills. The curriculum helps prepare the children for the public and/or private school systems and communities.
Our before-school program is designed for children who are attending public school
each day and need a secure environment before their school hours begin. Our before school program offers breakfast from 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. daily. Children will be allowed to relax or play games during this time, as well. We will provide transportation to Wake County Public and Charter Schools. The bus will depart AMTCDC’s premises promptly at 8:30 a.m. daily. All children must check into the ProCare attendance system before boarding the bus.
Homework assistance is offered, and a free choice of activities options are available after homework is completed. We also offer special fun activities in the afternoon, these activities include zumba, step and martial arts. AMTCDC uses STEAM to integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics into a cohesive learning based on real-world experiences in our after-school program.
STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses its access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking, rather than teach the disciplines as separate and discrete subjects.
